Upgrade of Le Stade Vélodrome

The old Stade Velodrome of Marseille will have another update again. Already refreshed and enlarged for 1998 World Cup, the stadium will get this time what was really missing: a roof for all stands. Until then, le Stade Velodrome was the only large stadium in France not to have a roof for every stand. This lack will be fixed with the new update that will drastically change the stadium aspect.

The building work already started in Summer 2011.

This update will grow up the capacity to 67 000 people, it should be finished in 2014.

The project is quite ambitious, as it aims to transform the Velodrome area into a vast sport complex, where sports event will take place.
